The Richest Man In Houston Has Been Appointed U.S. Ambassador To Italy

Tilman Fertitta, the owner of the Rockets basketball team, has just been appointed as the U.S. Ambassador to Italy. Fertitta and President Trump recently had a dinner with visiting Italian Prime Minister Meloni, who since taking office in October of 2022, has been the most conservative Italian leader since World War II.

Born in Galveston, Texas, Fertitta is an entertainment and restaurant tycoon who has raised huge amounts of money in support of President Trump. He has donated millions to Texas politicians from both political parties, with most of his contributions flowing to Republicans, including Governor Greg Abbott of Texas.

Trump praised Fertitta as an accomplished businessman who founded and built one of our country‘s premier entertainment and real estate companies that today employs approximately 50,000 workers.

Fertitta has a net worth of more than $10 billion dollars, according to Forbes. He was appointed by Governor Abbott to two terms on the Board of the University of Houston. He has a long history of giving back to the community through numerous philanthropic gifts to a variety of groups, including law enforcement and the medical community.

We have met him many times at political fundraising parties and we congratulate him on his new appointment and know he will be an outstanding ambassador.
