我在L.A.

再次回到加州這個黃色州是我非常熟悉的地方，早年第一次來到美國就在美麗的舊金山登陸,那裡有過刻骨銘心的記憶。因為種種原因,我們去了似乎非常遙遠而荒蕪的德克薩斯州,還記得很多美國友人說,你瘋了。德州一片荒涼之地，每年高溫百度之上,不過我還是離開了黃金之州遠走孤星之州。

歲月蹉跎數十載光陰似箭,我今天又再次回到舊地,這裡風景依舊，101和5號公路仍然塞滿車輛,人氣仍是鼎盛,並非報導中在急速褪色中之黃金大州。

今天在洛杉磯拜見了許多華裔來自中國大陸及台灣之工商界前輩,目睹他們創建之事業每年營業額都在十億美元之上,地產,食品加工,電訊,金融銀行,他們之成就對美國經濟貢獻極大，也是我們華裔之榮耀。

我們決定成立休斯敦-洛杉磯工商企業家協會,並責成老友謝宗煌兄負責召集數十位南加地區之中外工商人士和休斯敦地區進行定期交流,為大家共創事業共同努力。

走在洛城近郊之爾灣市,到處是鳥語花香椰林大道,住宅至少百萬起跳,這裡富豪聚集,更有我們華裔同胞之一片天地。

多年後我又回到這碧空連天的海岸线,細數過去走過之艱辛歲月,如今再能置身於彩虹雲天之中,人生何等幸運?

   I Am In L.A.

Returning to California, the Golden State, is a place I am very familiar with. When I first came to America, I landed in the beautiful city of San Francisco where I made many unforgettable memories. For various reasons, we decided 

to move to Texas, the Lone Star state. I still remember when some friends said to me, "Are you crazy?" 

It is true that Texas is a desolate land and the weather is often very hot. But I still left the Golden State and went straight to Texas.

Decades of time have passed like a flying arrow. Today, I came to an old place again. The scenery is still the same. Highways are still full of vehicles. It is not the Golden State like before that is now rapidly fading into the new reality.

I met many Chinese American businessmen in the Los Angeles area. 

I witnessed that their combined annual sales are more than one billion dollars. Many of them are in banking, real estate development, food and high- tech businesses. Their achievements have made great contributions to our economy and also to the glory of our community.

We have decided to establish the Houston - Los Angeles Entrepreneurs Association. My friend Mark Hsieh will be leading the organization that will connect the two cities in the future.

Many years later I returned to this Golden State reflecting on all the hardships I have gone through in the past. Now I can be in the rainbow with the clouds. How lucky is life?
