紐約市長被起訴

紐約市長亞當斯週四被指控五項罪名，包括和外國政府非法交易,成為現代歷史上被指控之首位紐约市長，但他否認所有之指控。

在起訴書中他被指控在2021年市長選舉中接受了外國人之捐款，多次接受土耳其航空公司免費招待，作為交換他向消防部門施壓為土耳其總领事館開後門。

週四上午聯邦特工沒收了亞當斯市長之手機，並指控他的下屬和許多外國政府有不正當之往來獲得不法捐款利益。

各界對於全美最大之城市首長遭到起訴表示震驚，但也不意外。我們眼看許多政治人物受不了物質及金錢之誘惑，當然市長之被起訴得經過司法程序才能判定是否有罪。

紐約是世界的政治經濟中心,是聯合國之總部，也是我們的大門,市長是首席行政長官，統領數萬員工，如果如此起訴屬實，真是令人惋惜和痛心。

The Mayor Of New York City Was Indicted

New York City Mayor Adams was charged with five criminal counts on Thursday that included illegal acceptance of funds from a foreign government and became the first mayor of New York City to be accused of such criminal activity in modern history, but the mayor is denying all the charges.

In the indictment, Adams was accused    of accepting donations from foreigners 

in the 2021 mayoral elections and of receiving free hospitality and gifts from Turkish Airlines many times for over long periods. In exchange, Adams pressured the New York City Fire Department to 'open the back door,' offering extra perks and special considerations to the Turkish Consulate located in the city.

On Thursday morning, federal agents confiscated Mayor Adams' cell phone and charged that Adams and his subordinates had forged many government documents and had engaged in improper transactions to obtain illegal election campaign donations.

Many people are shocked, but not really surprised, that the top government official of the largest city in the United States has been prosecuted. We here again observe that many politicians can’t resist the temptations of wrongful behavior and the attraction of money.

New York City is the political and financial center of the world. The mayor is the chief executive and leads thousands of city employees. If the charges against Adams are proven to be true in court, it will be really regrettable and sad.
