和休斯敦主計長對話

在華裔社區服務中心芮主任之安排下， 我和西南區管理委員會主席李雄一起會見了剛上任的市府主計長何黎及副主計長路易， 共同討論如何展開對社區之服務。

民選之主計長之地位僅次於市長， 是掌控財政支出大権之主管官員， 他曾經在2020 年總統大選時職掌赫里斯郡之總統大選活動，通過二十四小時汽車投票而名聲大燥於全國。

何黎主計長允諾今後將加強對華亞裔社區之服務， 其中包括將市府之存款部份轉移到華亞裔社區銀行， 舉辦各項市政財務座談， 让市民們更多瞭解市府財務情況。

陪同他一起會見的還有副主計長路易斯， 我們在會中簡報了國際區及西南區發展及二月十日舉行之慶祝新年游園會及休斯敦國際工商大展， 預計在年底前擴展至全球招商活動， 幫助活絡休斯敦地區之貿易投資活動。

We Meet With Houston's City Controller

Under the arrangement of the Director of Community Engagement, JoAnne Ray, Kennth Li, Chairman of the Southwestern District, and I met with our newly elected City Controller Chris Hollis and Deputy Controller Vernon Lewis at City Hall on Monday. 

Chris Hollis once took charge of the voting of the 2020 Presidential election in Harris County. Now he is second in power in the City of Houston. In our meeting, he promised to strengthen services to the Asian community including the transfer of some city funds to be deposited in Asian and minority owned banks, and to hold various financial symposiums to teach people about how the business of city finance is conducted.    

We reported to him about the coming celebration of the Lunar New Year and the International Expo on Feb. 10th next month. We would really like to team up with the City of Houston to promote trade and cultural events around the world.
