休斯敦市长之大计划

休斯敦第一机构和大商会共同主办的本年席惠特曼市长市政报告会週二中午在市中心希尔敦大酒店举行，一千六百位市府官员及工商社区领袖应邀出席，把整个会塲挤得水洩不通。

惠特曼市长在会中报告其就任以来之市政报告，他认為治安工作是重中之重。他认為没有良好之环境对市政之推动非常不利,而治安工作是他竞选时之最重要政见。

他同时宣佈,在市中心将规划非常龎大之另一个会展中心,并预计二0二八年前完工，届时将把隣近目前会展中心几十亩空地全面规划成為休斯敦会展区,可以加倍接纳更多之展会在休斯敦市举办,同时带动文化娱乐及工商活动。

我们对於市长之大计划表示热烈之支持,这也是新人新政之𠍇出表现和作為。

我也非常荣幸被市长任命為休斯敦第一机构之董事之一,负责规划和执行这项会展区之大计划。

The Mayor Of Houston‘s Big Plan

This year the State of the City Luncheon sponsored by HoustonFirst and the Greater Houston Partnership was held at the American Hilton Hotel downtown in Houston on Tuesday. More than1,600 city officials and business and community leaders were invited to attend and filled up the whole banquet hall of the hotel.
Mayor John Whitmire gave his report of the city and said that public safety is his top priority. The mayor believes that the lack of a safe environment does not help our economy. He stressed that the improvement of safety is the most important issue facing the city right now.
At the same time, he announced that a very big convention and exhibition center is now being planned and that a new Conventional District will be created in downtown Houston. When the project is completed in 2028, it will double our space to host more conventions in the city and will drive more cultural, entertainment and commercial activities in the greater Houston area.
We fully support our Mayor‘s big plan. I am also honored to have been appointed by the Mayor as one of the Board Members of HoustonFirst Corporation which is responsible for this big project. We will do our best to make it a great success for the city.
