台湾人之焦虑

日前有几位从休斯敦回台湾定居之友人，在回来后之聚会上，大话他们回去后之感想，在他们年青时来到美国打拼，青春都献给了美国，退休后以养老退休金，在故乡享受黄金年华之退休生活，何嗜不是一个非常圆满之安排。但是从他们之言谈中，故乡已经变色了，和他们童年时的台湾已经是今非昔比。

今天台湾海峡之紧张情势是他们最担心的事，不过他们已经向美国在台协会登记，如果需要撤侨时，他们相信自己会被安置在外海之美国军舰上去。

国民党前主席甫自中国大陆访问回来，最大之亮点是希望中华民族一词来建造共同之信念，海峡两岸不再兵兇战危。

立法院国民党籍立法委员下週也将集体访问大陆，他们希望恢復两岸观光交流，多卖此凤梨酥、水產、水果到大陆，解决民生问题。

他们到大陆去访问有错吗? 政府不但不该阻止，应该大力支持才对！

Anxiety Among The Taiwanese People
Recently, some friends who had settled in Taiwan after living in Houston for decades gathered for a reunion. They shared their thoughts on returning to Taiwan after spending their youth in the United States and retiring with a pension to enjoy their golden years in their hometown. However, they expressed concerns about how their homeland has changed and how Taiwan today is much different from their childhood memories.
The tense situation in the Taiwan Strait is their biggest worry. Nevertheless, they have registered with the American Institute in Taiwan in case an evacuation should become necessary, firmly believing that they will be accommodated by U.S. warships in offshore waters.
The recent visit of former KMT chairman Ma ying-Jeou to China was a major highlight that emphasized shared beliefs and hopes for peaceful cross-strait relations.
